Sample Architectural Applications

Large Office Building on Michigan Tech University Campus
This thermal model of the Raymond L. Smith Mechanical Engineering building illustrates the development of a comprehensive thermal and flow model with transient environmental loading. Wind flow data was computed in Fluent software and imported into RadTherm for comprehensive diurnal thermal analysis with solar shadowing animations and multilayer walls. Greenhouse effects are accurately captured for accurate zone analysis.
Residential Dwelling
Illustrates the development of a residence model with transient environmental loading. Solar shadow animations and multilayer walls/roofing.
Still Shot of Building Temperatures With Wind and Solar Effects Solar and Environmental Loading on Buildings
This house model demonstrates how HVAC designers can evaluate building designs using TAI's WinTherm and RadTherm codes.
Stonehenge
An interesting nod to the advanced technology of times gone by. Actual shadows illustrate the effects of global position in our natural environment tab.

Oscillating Room Heater
This advanced model incorporates movement of the heater geometry to capture the shifting radiation loads. The movement was setup through RadTherm's C++ API and post-processed in EnSight(tm) software. Note: moving models can also be done without automation.
Additional Application Information
Model Of The Month
Each month ThermoAnalytics will be presenting a new model for you to view. You can also access an archive of past month's models.
Technical Bulletins
This section contains technical bulletins, issued by ThermoAnalytics, which are related to various applications and other technical issues. A print optimized PDF version of each bulletin is also available.
Validation
This section is intended to provide specific examples that correlate theoretical problem solutions to the solvers incorporated into RadTherm, WinTherm, and MuSES.
