IMPORT SURFACE GEOMETRY

  • Easily import surface mesh geometry from:
    Patran Neutral (NTL), Wavefront (OBJ), Stereolithography (STL), AutoCAD (DXF), Rhino3D (3DM), Nastran. Patran Neutral files can contain geometry and element-level CFD results (convection coefficient and fluid temperatures). Support for Nastran Convection import currently in development.
    Create new geometry (plates or pipes) or edit imported geometry: copy, rotate, delete, etc.
    • Built-in diagnostics and limited mesh repair
    • Model components can be pieced together, "parted-out" or even replaced with new geometry.
    • Easy data management - single file data storage.


    Model Set-Up

    MANIPULATE MODEL PARAMETERS

    • Assign and edit part attributes through the graphical user interface: Part boundary conditions, materials, surface conditions.
    • Apply boundary conditions directly to the geometry - no programming or editing of text files.
    • Assign temperatures or heat rates through curves or values.
    • Specify convection values or import CFD results.
    • Utilize Specialized part types such as 3-layer elements with support for air gaps, vacuum gaps and solid or porous middle layer.

     

    ANALYZE WITH SPEED

    • RadTherm generates extremely fast and accurate thermal solutions. Geometry surface temperatures are initialized with a steady state solution and then the simulation proceeds through time with the transient solution.
    • Adjust your view factor accuracy and radiation patch sizes to reduce solution time or to increase accuracy.
    • RadTherm's voxel-based ray tracer resolves view factors quickly and precisely.
    • Unlimited nodes: problem size is limited only by your system resources.
    • Throughout the simulation, model surface temperatures are displayed on the mesh as a thermal image. Alter viewpoints on the fly.
    • Complete thermal analysis is performed through a single model: Radiation, Conduction, and Convection with 1-D fluid flow capturing advection.

    POST-PROCESS THE RESULTS

    • Integrated Post Processor and plot function let you see the results immediately. Surfaces are colored by element temperature.
    • Export the results for display or analysis in other programs - text data for spread sheets, graphic plots for reports, and limited 3rd party 3-D post-processing, e.g. EnSight(tm). To view EnSight's webpage click here.
