Locate your operating system below and enter the appropriate command to locate your HOSTID or Hard Drive Volume Serial Number. You will need to email this information to us in order to create a license file that enables our software to run on your computer. Demo installations contain a node-limited license file allowing full operation on models containing up to 300 nodes (typlically 150 elements).
Windows Machine Commands
Windows - Ethernet address
Open a DOS window by using Start>Run. Enter "cmd" into the prompt. This will open a DOS window. Command: ipconfig /all
Look for:
Ethernet NIC
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : NN-NN-NN-NN-NN-NN
Example result: 00-A0-24-94-E1-28
Windows - Disk serial number
Another Option is to locate your hard drive serial number. Open a DOS window by using the directions listed above. Use the command: dir /w/p (note the space between “dir” and “/w/p”). Look for the “Volume Serial Number is” phrase. Record this number in its entirety, making sure to remove the hyphen between the numerals. Example Result: 1CA25283

remove last 2 digits, and use remaining last 8 digits
