Pre- and Post-Processing

The surface temperatures of the combined RadTherm-CFD run can viewed and plotted directly in RadTherm, as in the 1-D flow method. Because the focus of this analysis is to produce designs that protect the solid objects in the system (as opposed to achieving a particular fluid temperature for a chemical reaction), post processing directly in RadTherm is usually sufficient.

CFD Convection Analysis

Pre-processing for CFD analysis involves the creation of surface meshes and setup of boundary conditions for thermal analysis and heat transfer modeling. Meshing is a key step to creating accurate results: correct mesh continuity and mesh density are needed to efficiently compute results and capture the boundary layer effects.
