Predicting target detectability in a maritime environment presents unique challenges.  The sea moves, waves change size, day becomes night, and the clouds can cover the sun (which, of course, has a significant effect on an IR prediction).  TAIThermIR’s sea model provides a physically-realistic method for rendering sea backgrounds either with or without wave action.

The Sea Model enables faceted sea surface rendering, with wave heights and directions based on weather inputs and parametric data.
