Zach Edel

Dr. Edel served as a Senior Research Engineer at ThermoAnalytics, where he worked as feature owner for the TAITherm Battery Extension and as a subject matter expert for vehicle electrification. His work spanned thermal/electric and thermal/CFD simulation, advanced physics modeling, and multi-physics coupling, with research supporting government agencies including DEVCOM, AFRL, NREL, and the Army, alongside commercial OEMs. He developed an approach to couple TAI's 3D thermal solver with battery lifetime prognostic tools and presented at international conferences on battery thermal runaway and electric vehicle cabin comfort. Dr. Edel holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics from Michigan Technological University, where he also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
