With integrated EV cooling systems responsible for managing the thermal environments for both the passenger and EV powertrain components, understanding the thermal performance and attribute tradeoffs is key for delivering thermal metrics and optimizing vehicle energy consumption and passenger comfort. In this webinar, we will define a basic climate control strategy based on the sensation and comfort level of the vehicle's passenger. We will in turn see how this strategy affects the climate system and the battery cooling system energy consumption and performance.

Join us on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 3:00 PM JST as we demonstrate how this type of model can be used to optimize energy consumption of the various components and eventually the vehicle efficiency.  For this study, we will couple a 1D thermal model of the climate control system (created with Modelon Modelica libraries) with a complete 3D thermal model (TAITherm/OpenFOAM) using the Functional Mockup Interface (FMI).
